EMDR Therapy for High-Achieving Women and Teen Girls in Cincinnati & Throughout Ohio

A place of rest. A place for healing.

Hi, I’m Sakina.

You don’t have to find your way alone.

IIf you've found your way here, chances are you've spent a long time being the one everyone else depends on. You've carried anxiety, responsibility, and impossible expectations while quietly wondering when life will finally feel a little lighter.

Over the years, both personally and professionally, I've come to understand that insight alone isn't always enough. We can understand exactly why we feel the way we do and still find ourselves stuck in the same patterns. Healing isn't always found through thinking harder. Often, the places where we feel stuck are held much deeper—in our nervous system, our relationships, and the stories we've carried for years.

Like many of the women I work with, I've experienced seasons that required me to learn what it means to slow down, ask for support, and care for my own well-being—not just understand why it mattered. That understanding has shaped not only who I am as a person, but also the kind of therapist I strive to be. It's what led me to specialize in EMDR and other nervous system-based approaches that help clients move beyond coping and experience lasting healing.

I believe my role isn't to tell you where to go. It's to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and wisdom while you discover your own path forward. Therapy should be the one place where you don't have to perform, prove yourself, or be the strong one. A place where you can finally exhale, reconnect with yourself, and begin living with greater peace, clarity, and confidence.

The name Munira means illuminated or radiant. I chose it because it reflects the kind of therapist I hope to be—not someone who walks the path for you, but someone who carries a lantern beside you when the way forward feels uncertain. My hope is that, over time, you begin to recognize the strength, clarity, and light that have been within you all along.

It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and begin the next chapter of your healing.

What It’s Like to Work Together

Therapy should help you do more than cope—it should help you feel like yourself again.

Healing doesn't begin with having everything figured out. It begins with feeling safe enough to be honest about where you are. My role is to meet you with curiosity, compassion, and respect while we gently explore the experiences, patterns, and beliefs that have shaped your life.

Together, we'll move beyond simply talking about your struggles and begin working with the places where they're held—in your nervous system, your relationships, and the stories you've carried for years. Using EMDR and other evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, we'll help your mind and body process painful experiences so they no longer have to carry the same emotional weight.

Along the way, you'll gain practical tools to manage anxiety, regulate overwhelming emotions, and care for yourself with greater compassion. But our work doesn't stop there. My hope is that therapy helps you experience lasting healing—not just temporary relief—so you can move through life with greater peace, confidence, and freedom.

When I’m Not in the Office

Outside of the therapy office, life is usually centered around my three children, spending time with family and friends, teaching college students, and whatever creative project has captured my attention. I love reading, exploring the outdoors, visiting new places, and creating things that are both beautiful and meaningful.

I've come to appreciate the value of slowing down and making space for the people, places, and moments that restore us. Those practices don't just shape my own life—they also influence the way I show up for the people I have the privilege of working with.

Your healing can begin here.

Healing doesn't begin with having everything figured out. It begins with one conversation. Schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation, and together we'll explore whether therapy with me feels like the right fit.
